Here are some frequently asked questions by our clients that might help you out as well:

How long does a session last?
Depending on what session you choose and how much time we’ve had to prepare for the session, it can last anywhere between 30 mins for a headshot session to 3 hours for a fashion portraits or boudoir session.

What should I bring to the shoot?
We send you a very detailed email with a list of what you need to bring with you. If you’re getting a makeover before the session, you don’t need to bring anything other than your outfits on hangers. Shoes are not required for in-studio sessions as they’re not allowed inside to maintain a clean and hygienic environment for out littlest clients.

Can someone come watch me getting photographed?
Absolutely! You can bring up to 1 guest who is not being photographed but please make sure you inform us so we can accommodate your guest. However, your guest may not take behind the scenes photos or selfies with you at any time during a session. Even if you’ve booked your session for yourself, you can let us know in advance and we could definitely accommodate additional people in the session. 🙂

Why do I need a professional headshot or business portrait?
A headshot that is done professionally is no longer a luxury but a necessity. There are many compelling reasons why you should get one. You can find more info here.

What is a fashion portraits session?
A fashion portraits session is mostly for women but we do offer sessions for men and couples as well. This is a Vogue-style session, which includes a complete makeover for women and up to 3 changes of outfits for both men and women.  Take a look at this blog post for one such session.

What kind of products do you offer?
Products depend on the session. For business headshots, our clients usually only need digital files for online use, however you can also order table prints for yourself or as gifts.
For fashion portraits sessions, getting a folio box with matted prints (10, 15 or 20) is the most popular choice for our clients but they often buy large wall portraits or albums as well.

We determine your vision for your portrait session during a pre-session consultation so we can go over what products would best suit your lifestyle and budget.

What will my session include?
Depending on the type of session, it may include a makeover. All fashion portraits sessions include up to three changes of outfits and business headshots include up to two.

Do you do family portraits?
Yes, absolutely! Whether it’s for mother-daughter sessions, small family sessions outdoors, or even small family gatherings, we love to work with families. Check out my website for family sessions.

What other types of sessions do you do?
We’re happy to shoot all kinds of sessions depending on our availability. Newborn, high-fashion pregnancy sessions, baby’s first portraits, small family events, small weddings, etc. We believe that every family should have a family photographer and we are known for building strong relationships with our clients. Therefore, shooting different life events for our clients is part and parcel of our service offerings.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We prefer cash or cheque, but anything that’s convenient for you is good for us – cash, credit card, cheque, Interac money transfer.

Do you offer a payment plan?
Yes, most certainly! However, we can only offer interest-free payment plans for up to 3 payments on orders over $350. If you’d like to have more than 3 payments, a 5% interest rate will apply to cover admin costs.

What is your cancellation policy?
You are entitled to reschedule your session up to one time only in the case of an emergency. Please let us know as soon as possible so we can pick another date. Cancellation up to 2 weeks before the session date (not applicable to events) will be entitled to a 50% refund payment of the session fee. If the appointment is cancelled less than 2 weeks before the session date, no refund can be made because of a loss of business.

Can you describe what a session with Shutter-Tripper Photography looks like?
The moment you arrive for a fashion portraits session, we do a quick “before” shot before you get into the makeup chair for your transformation. A professional makeup artist works with you to decide on the look you want and gives you a complete makeover. Once that is complete, we commence with the shoot and go through at least 3 wardrobe changes to make sure we have enough beautiful imagery for you to choose from. Once the session is done, we invite you back for you to view your gorgeous portraits and order your products within 1 week. Most of our clients walk away with a gorgeous leatherette folio box with matted prints and a large wall portrait to hang in their bedroom or living area. Sparkling wine, cheese and crackers are served during the session as part of the fun experience. 🙂

For a business headshot session, we ascertain the 2 outfits (in case you need help with choosing) that would be most suitable for the session and do a change of outfit for a second look. At the end of the session, we take a look at the pictures we got from the shoot and you can make your selections right away. The selected images are then completely retouched and delivered within 48 hours.

How long till I can see my pictures?
For most sessions, you’re invited to come back within a week to see your photos and order your products. For business headshots, you can see them right away and delivery of the final products takes 48 hours. For events, it takes a little longer due to the sheer volume of the photos taken – about 2 weeks – before you can see your photos.
